At The Hometown Veterinarian, our Veterinary Technicians play an essential role in delivering high-quality medical care while ensuring pets and their families feel supported and valued. As a Veterinary Technician, you will be a key part of The Hometown Veterinarian Difference—combining elite-level veterinary medicine with compassionate, community-focused care.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Technician, you will:

  • Assist in Medical Procedures and Surgeries – Support veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and dental procedures, ensuring patient safety and smooth workflows.
  • Perform Diagnostic Testing – Collect lab samples, process bloodwork, and conduct in-house diagnostic tests to aid in quick and accurate treatment.
  • Monitor Anesthesia and Recovery – Oversee anesthetic procedures using advanced monitoring equipment and assist in post-operative care.
  • Provide Advanced Nursing Care – Administer medications, manage IV catheters and fluid therapy, and care for hospitalized patients with compassion.
  • Educate and Support Pet Owners – Offer guidance on treatment plans, post-procedure care, and preventive health recommendations.
  • Maintain a Safe and Organized Hospital – Keep treatment areas clean, stocked, and prepared for procedures while upholding high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a veterinary setting strongly preferred.
  • Ability to safely handle and care for animals of all sizes.
