About Romelia
What Inspired You to Join the Animal Field?
My love for animals started in high school when my pet hamster became very sick. In my hometown in Mexico, there were no veterinarians able to help him — that experience inspired me to pursue veterinary school in Mexico, where I trained as a small animal veterinarian.
Experience & Background
Before joining The Hometown Veterinarian, I worked at several animal hospitals in Mexico, gaining hands-on experience with pets of all kinds. After moving to the United States, I spent time working at a hog farm in Iowa Falls and also served as a phlebotomist for Biolife. This diverse background gave me a deep appreciation for both the medical and animal care fields.
