What makes The Hometown Veterinarian different?
The Hometown Veterinarian Difference means no shortcuts, no guesswork—just a higher standard of care, giving you peace of mind your pet is in capable hands.

We focus on how care is delivered—from personalized treatment plans to advanced monitoring and thoughtful communication—so you always know what your pet is receiving and why.

Are you more expensive than other veterinarians?
We focus on providing complete, high-quality care. When comparing veterinary costs and what is included, it’s important to understand that not all care is the same.

In fact, many clients who come to us from other areas are pleased to find that our pricing is very competitive—particularly given the level of monitoring, diagnostics, and support included in our care. These are not add-ons—they are simply part of how we practice medicine.

What types of pets do you treat?
We provide care for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small mammals . Whether your pet walks, flies, slithers, or hops, our team is experienced in providing thoughtful, individualized care.

Do you offer advanced procedures like orthopedic surgery or TPLO?
Yes. We offer advanced surgical care, including orthopedic procedures such as TPLO, along with modern diagnostics and patient monitoring to support safe, effective outcomes.

We have compassion for animals but we also understand the emotional distress that a sick or injured pet causes everyone.

  • Healing

We heal animals every day. We also heal people by understanding that everyone is broken in some way and a simple smile or a kind word can help heal hearts.

Our Clients say...

I was very pleased with the professional and friendly (hometown) attitude of the staff and doctors. They were very understanding and seemed to really care for my family's dog. The staff was very caring and treated her with love and kindness to the very end. I highly recommend them to all those who love and care for their pets/family members.

Anthony R.

Very nice staff, work hard at making sure I am well taken care of. The veterinarians are very attentive! They treat my dogs well!

Deb B.

I took my cat Ziggy in because he was having some issues and just overall wasn’t feeling well. He was absolutely spoiled with all the love and attention he received from the loving staff members. I would like to thank each and every one of them for all the hard work they did for Ziggy and continue to do for him! Thank you VERY MUCH Hometown Vet! Ziggy thanks you as well!

Briana R.

Very clean and very professional. The staff really cares about your pet as if it were their own! Our Saluki girl, Eve, needed surgery for a broken humerus bone. Dr. Jacobson was highly recommended by our primary vet. He made her as good as new!

Todd B.

Had our first visit yesterday for a nail clip and wellness check for our two bunnies. It was a completely positive experience. The clinic is easy to access and has ample parking. The entire clinic is clean and well-maintained.The lobby is large and well-designed so that your pets are not too close to other's pets. Exam rooms include heated exam tables which is a wonderful feature that I haven't found at any other vet office. Dr. Jacobson took a thorough history and did a comprehensive physical exam. I got a surprise this morning. The clinic called to ask how the bunnies are doing and if I had any questions or concerns to address with the Doctor. Hometown Vet was impressive in every aspect. Very highly recommended!

Clyde A,

I absolutely love the culture and environment of an independently owned veterinary clinic. All of the staff are welcoming, patient, kind and you can tell they all have a passion for what they do! We saw Dr Hoyt today who specializes in cat dentistry. My cat had surgery for reabsorption ulcers. Dr Hoyt was very thorough with explaining and educating me on this condition and treatment, she is absolutely wonderful! I always leave with the feeling my pets have received the best care possible.

Kelli B.

A great place to bring your pets. They take great care of them.

Jane G.

Dr. Kvidera does an awesome job with our large undisciplined country dogs. :) It's always an adventure taking the barking goofball lab or the scared-of-everything shepherd to the vet, but the whole office does a great job managing our much-loved 4-legged family members.

Tex n Sarah B.

Referred here from my local vet for more specialized care. Great friendly staff.

Marcy M.

Winter Loves coming to the vet to see Dr. Jacobson highly recommend wouldn't go anywhere else
